Favorite Snacks of Famous Writers

Many people have an extra-special snack that they love to have nearby. Writers are no different. The creativity seems to flow a little bit easier when snacking while writing. Artist and illustrator Wendy MacNaughton investigated the favorite snacks of some famous writers for the Sketchbook section of the New York Times.

Through illustrations and examples, MacNaughton highlights what writers like to snack on while creating impressive works of written art. For example, Lord Byron sipped vinegar, as he was watching his weight, while Marcel Proust favored dark espresso to push creativity to an all-time high. For Mary Roach, almost raw beef pho was the snack of choice.
