“Fund My Potato Salad” & Other Crazy Food Kickstarters

What started out as a joke has resulted in a windfall for one Columbus, Ohio, man, who’s raised over $40,000 (and counting) to—get this—make potato salad.

Huffington Post reports on this crazy Kickstarter campaign, which started innocently enough and then snowballed into a viral sensation. Zack Danger Brown’s initial funding request, “I’m making potato salad,” now has more than 5,000 backers and, with 23 days to go, shows no signs of slowing down. Better yet, since Brown’s Kickstarter launch, other food projects are kickstarting their own funding campaigns in hopes to achieve similar success (see Bacon Cupcakes, Pancakes in the Mail).
